Sumptuous summer snacks

Is there anything better than snacks?  I submit there is not.

I prefer snacks to meals, but my snacks tend to be structured like mini-meals anyway.  I tend to eat every 2-3 hours, but that's what works for me--everybody is different.

Note-- if you find yourself pretty hungry after a meal, you may need to add more food (like protein and fat) to that meal to feel more satiated.

Summer presents a unique challenge to snacking because, well, it's hot af.  We want cool and refreshing.  Lucky for us, summer is a great time for seasonal fruits and veggies--not only are these packed with flavor, but also often more nutritionally dense (ie, more vitamins and minerals).  Summer is a great time to incorporate some of these seasonal options into our snack (and meal!) rotation.

Here are some of my favorite seasonal summer snacks!

-watermelon (duh)
-stone fruits, especially nectarines and cherries
-berries (with some whipped cream or whole greek yogurt)
-radishes/bell peppers/cucumbers with guac
-grilled zucchini
-tomatoes and cottage cheese
-caprese salad (or on bread as a sandwich)

What are your favorite snacks? Let me know--I'm always looking to up my game!
