Grab and Go Tips

Grab-and-Go Tips-2.png

Let’s be real -- life happens, and sometimes you gotta grab food on-the-go.

Some weeks I don’t prep enough food, or I’m travelling, or, more often, I’ve left my lunch on the  counter in a rush out the door.

That’s when I rely on convenient, healthy grab-and-go options.

But with so many options, how do you know WHAT to eat?

There are several grab-and-go options (I once counted 15 fast food places on my 20-minute drive to work), but tbh, those options aren’t all that great, and will interfere with my performance in the gym—AIN’T NOBODY GOT TIME FOR THAT. Plus, who wants to feel like shit all day?

The key to success when choosing convenience foods is to make informed choices versus impulse choices.

When I have to grab food on the run, these are things I look for in my choices:
-Protein and vegetable-rich options
-Foods are made from real foods
-Drink water or, my favorite, sparkling water
-Opt for bun-less options or bowls

Things I try to avoid:
-Weird sauces/dressings (extra hidden calories, and I'm afraid of food poisoning)
-Fries, chips, other deep fried options
-Sodas, juices, and sugar-laden drinks
-Sugary goodies (THE hardest for me to skip)

What are some of your favorite hacks for grabbing food on the run? Let me know!
